Where Did the Time Go?
So... apparently I haven't posted all summer. Oops.
Lemme see if I can catch you up.
Summer happened. We tried to enjoy it. We forgot to go to African Lion Safari like we said we would, but we DID go to the park and the pool and the splash pad a lot.
I finally finished mom'sprayer shawl. It's a shawl, she likes it, I'm happy with that.
I made a little sweater and sock minder set for friends of ours who had their fourth child!
I am also happy to announce I'm 4 months pregnant! So of course I have a list a mile long of things I'd like to make before baby arrives in February. For now I managed to hold off insanity by only making this little onesey. It's been done for a while now, but I need to sew on the buttons. That will come.
And of course all of this extra curricular knitting means I'm about three weeks behind on this behemoth
According to my self imposed schedule (which I already edited to make time to finish the shawl by the end of July) I should be working on the bottom black border this week, but I'm still in the early stages of the all warm colour quadrant, which needs to be done to start said border.
Oh well!! I also got strep throat a few more times... in fact I have it again right now!! I don't know what crazy strain of bacteria is causing this, but it seems to be very tenacious and not willing to just die a normal death with no host to actually keep it alive. I concluded that it was hanging around in my retainer, but I now think it was also in my metal water bottle, which I foolishly neglected to sterilize. I feel like going over my entire house with disinfectant. I guess that's what normal people do on a regular basis anyway? I guess I need to get fastidious about cleanliness now.
In other news, little monkey started his first full day of kindergarten today! I can't believe it's that time already. The summer is over, and as unfathomable as it seems at such an early age, so is his freedom. I could go on about regrets and time wasted and so on, but gee, he's not even 4 yet! His life isn't over! Plus, now I can have a little free time before the winter to get some stuff done. Which is why I'm actually able to post something without someone else needing/wanting the computer whenever I'm on it. I should be able to get closer to a more regular schedule now. We'll see how that goes.
