You know it's been a while when...

You have to read your last post to remind yourself where you left off.

We are nearing our demo day (tomorrow!) and everything in our kitchen is packed.  When I last wrote the plan was only to pack the wall shelves and the pantry area, so we could rip down the wall, but now that we have to have all of the electrical done and drywall up before they will measure for our cabinets and begin making them... well, everything in our kitchen is now either in boxes in the basement or set up in the dining room.  Here, take a look.

The table is pushed up against the shelves so that little monkey doesn't go on a climbing expedition.
I cannot believe how much junk we had around.  This is what the shelves looked like after we had tossed most of the excess.

These are not the shelves of someone who has just culled the excess.  These are the shelves of normal people.  We are, apparently, not normal.

At this point, most of our food was in boxes in the cantina.
Much of what you see is scary stale stuff buried for years in
Narnia at the back of the cupboard.

The above picture of the pantry I'm posting only for posterity, for it will not longer be in existence by the end of tomorrow.  Goodbye tiny, crowded room.  You will not be missed.

In other news, this is how far I got on my hood thing:

Because I felt the need to start this:

It is a legwarmer for my monkey.  He fell in love with the orange and purple yarn (Patons Kroy Mexicala Stripes) but I only bought one ball, which was not quite enough for a pair of legwarmers, which he seems to be really obsessed with these days.  I'm stretching out the yarn with the rainbow yarn (Sunburst Stripes) and I think they are super fun and a lot crazy.
Perfect for a two year old.
