The socks are done!

Monkey and I got really sick this past week, and everything got put on hold.  I couldn't even graft 8 toe stitches together.
Yes, Christmas is still up at my house.
I told you we got sick!

I did eventually finish them, and I finished knitting The Monkey's scarf!  I changed my mind about fifty times and frogged it about as many.  I finally stuck with a collared cowl, made out of some scrap yarn from his hat, the orange from the original orange and teal design, and some new purpley-red orange twist.  It's all merino and alpaca and it's sooo soft, it should be very cozy when completed.

Now I need to make a hat for myself.  I wanted to make a hooded scarf, but I don't want to knit a scarf... so I might do some sort of hooded cowl thing.  I have some really nice looking yarn that I bought on a whim upstairs that I have been planning on using for this, but it's acrylic and the more I think about wearing acrylic on my head, the more I shudder.  Then I thought maybe I'd do some sort of double sided fisherman's rib, with wool on the inside... but the stuff I have is actually only 20% wool... so that won't work either... also I don't really need three balls to make it, and I'm not sure how I'm actually going to construct this thing, and I'm just second guessing everything about this hood.  Big surprise.

I think I need to take a trip to the yarn store, and see what they have.  In the mean time I will knit up a mini version to see if my ideas for constructing it will work.

I hope this goes better than the Fibonacci bandanna scarf idea I had...
