Three week round up!
It might be easier to catch up this way...
So I did re-try the toilet bombs, putting in almost no water, until the mix barely held together |
They didn't puff up in two seconds like the last batch, and I thought all was well |
This is what they looked like the next day. I gave up on giving them as gifts. |
Also, the idea of these things seems like an interesting one, but the more I think about it, the less I expect that it will actually do anything save make people feel better because it fizzes and smells good. I use bath bombs all the time, and they don't make me or my tub any cleaner, they just soften the water and put on a good show.
Anyway, once everything was wrapped and packed we did our usual Christmas tour.

Little Monkey jamming with his Nonno and Zii |
These are how the snow globes turned out. The diamond dust I got doesn't flutter well, but they're still adorable. |
These are the "little things" I made for my mom that Monkey wouldn't stop playing with |
The mice thing is a long story, but she liked them |
And I liked making them. |
I went to the AGO to the Mystical Landscapes exhibit with my mom and my brother's girlfriend. It was excellent.
Then we took my dad to the ROM to see the Chihuly exhibit. It was also awesome.
AND we were allowed to take lots and lots of pictures! |
Which I did. |
I wouldn't usually take as many as I did, but every piece had elements that I deemed useful for the classroom |
Even if I'm not actually in the classroom right now. I still keep piling the resources and exemplars higher and higher. |
Also Monkey is a knight now. |
They are still not done. I had the first sock done by the end of Christmas day, but the first week of Christmas was so busy (I'm sparing you the minutiae of our very scheduled week... you're welcome.) I didn't really get to work on them at all.
Then after New Years, I got myself a little planner
It's blank so I can do all of my second favourite things! Seasonal colour matching and stamps! It's not a full on bullet journal, but I realized that regular planners just don't do what I need them to, so this whole customizable planner fad is perfect for me and it came at a perfect time.
So, anyway, I spent all week being a good home MAKER, doing the dishes, and cleaning up all the messes, and stamping up a storm until way too late at night, and the sock was left, stitches dangling, waiting for me to become lazy and indulgent again.
When I realized the Epiphany was so so close I hustled a bit and got the colour work done in two days... but it was too late. Now Christmas is pretty much done, and I'm having trouble finishing the toe... instead I'm re-arranging my recipe binder and lesson planning for the next few weeks of religious ed.
Don't worry, sock, I'll finish you before Candlemas, my head's getting cold and I need to get over you, and start a hat already.
