T minus 36, 35, 34...
34 days until Christmas?!! That's little over a month!
We were at Costco on Saturday and an adorable Christmas Bear robot told me there were only 36 days left until Christmas!
I really love that annoying little robo-bear. It makes me dance in the aisles. I visit it every time I go there. I can't help myself, but I also can't bring myself to actually buy it. I can't say why.
Anyhow, clearly I have an obsession with Christmas, as I did start this whole blog off by telling you that I start thinking about Christmas in July...
Just sayin'
Usually I'd be over the moon about the fact that Advent starts next Sunday, but I did get a little bit worried because of my list.
This list keeps getting longer. It's like every time I finish one thing on the list, I think of two more things to make and throw it on. Green is totally ready to go, yellow is a work in progress (most of which just need to be blocked, thank goodness) and red is "you better start that stuff right now or the world will explode!" Also the purple is technically for me but I'd like to work on them before Christmas is done and black is the fun I get to have after all my Christmas making is over. It does not include the small ever growing paper list I have upstairs that contains all the dreams and stash busting plans I have for projects for next year!

You know, THE LIST. |
Technically it's all looking pretty good, because there are only a few things left to actually knit on the list... but I still have the other non-knitting stuff to do.
AND I teach Catechism to grade three kids, for whom I make a Christmas package every year. I need to have these done by December 6th. I have not actually started working on them yet. I am getting nervous.
But then every time I feel too nervous, I think about all the things I've already finished and I feel better. Plus! look at what I made!
a leaf trivet/coaster set |
I really really enjoyed making the maple leaves. The (birch?) leaves were very fast and easy, so the whole set was very satisfying.
Also this
I can't even begin to explain how much I love this colour combo. It is going to be a hat and I'm kind of obsessed.
That's the thing about variegated yarn, it's really fun to see how the colours actually knit up and it makes you want to keep going to see what happens next.
It's like serious binge inducing.
It's like every row has it's own cliffhanger.
It's like the netflix of the fibre arts.
Good for gift giving, not so good for housework.
Housework. That's another thing that needs to be done before Christmas.
